Heart To Heart

One step closer
To shedding the dust
Finding the breeze.

When all  measures
And weights are taken
Then dust settles
Back to molecules.

 In favour
the year's bounty
full and fat of cycle now-
embankment summer grasses.

Ox-eyed Daisy and Yarrow
and
Foxglove and Lupin -
a smudge in the periphery perhaps
sun breaking through at last.

 Walking the old railway track
a cloister of leaves and boughs
talking direct heart to heart -
there and back.

For all the softening
the city
remains angles and sharp edges
every corner taken up -
even foxes are urbanised.
